Energy Web Cookie Policy

Effective date · August 24, 2026 Last modified · August 24, 2026 Replaces · the Cookie Policy dated April 16, 2024

General information

Energy Web AG, a Swiss company located at Baarerstrasse 10, 6300 Zug, Switzerland, registered under CHE-374.087.679 ("Energy Web", "we", "us") is the operator of energyweb.org.

Our website does not set any cookies. It uses no analytics, no advertising technology and no tracking of any kind. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. This Cookies Policy explains what cookies are, confirms what we checked, and covers the other Energy Web pages that do use cookies.

Our Privacy Policy at energyweb.org/privacy explains everything else we do with personal data, including the security logging our hosting platform carries out.

What are cookies

Cookies are small files containing a string of characters that is sent to your computer when you visit a website. Cookies may store user preferences and other information, within your current browsing session, across multiple sessions when you return to the site, or both. Cookies also enable certain site functionality, such as keeping you signed in.

Cookies set by the website owner are called "first-party cookies". Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called "third-party cookies". Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be provided on or through the website, for example analytics, social media integration, or content from third-party sites.

Cookies on our website

We do not use them. We tested energyweb.org with a browser that runs scripts, and separately at the network level. On both the homepage and the cookie policy page:

  • No cookies were set, first-party or third-party.
  • No data was written to local storage or session storage.
  • No analytics product was loaded. We do not use Google Analytics.
  • No tracking scripts were present. We use no advertising or remarketing technology, and we have no customer relationship management tracking script on the site.

Consent is required before non-essential cookies are placed on your device. Since we place no cookies at all, there is nothing for a banner to ask you about, and adding one would give you a choice that has no effect. We repeat this check when the website changes, and we update this policy if the position changes.

Our pages include links to Energy Web's presence on external platforms, including X, LinkedIn, Medium, Discord and GitHub.

These are ordinary links, not embedded content. Nothing loads from those platforms while you are on our website, and they cannot set cookies on your device unless you click through to them. Once you do, you are on that platform and its own cookie and privacy terms apply.

Our service status page

Our service status page at status.energyweb.org is provided by a third-party monitoring service and does use cookies. These are limited to strictly necessary operational cookies, used to keep the page working correctly and securely.

Strictly necessary cookies are necessary for the service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They do not require your consent, because the service cannot be provided without them. They are not used to analyze your behaviour, to build a profile of you, or for advertising.

Our archived website

An archived copy of our previous website remains temporarily available at legacy.energyweb.org while we complete our migration. It is hosted on a different platform from our current site and sets strictly necessary cookies required by that platform. Analytics and tracking features are switched off there. The site is not maintained and will be removed. Any privacy or cookie information published there is out of date and is superseded by this policy and our Privacy Policy.

Other Energy Web services

Energy Web's registries, platforms and hosted dashboards are separate services, reached at their own addresses. Some of them use cookies, for example to keep you signed in. Each has its own privacy information, which you will find on the service itself. Our hosted dashboards are covered by a separate notice at energyweb.org/dashboards-privacy.

Managing cookies in your browser

You do not need to change any setting to browse energyweb.org privately, but you can control cookies for any website through your browser, for example:

  • Safari: Settings, then Privacy

Blocking all cookies can stop some websites working properly. It will not affect your use of energyweb.org.
