Jon is a council member of the Energy Web Foundation. He is also a managing director at Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), where he leads research and collaboration activities on disruptive technologies and is the founder and co-leader of RMI’s China Program. He works with and advises governments, companies, and other thought leaders on ways to create value and scale clean energy solutions globally.

 

Prior to RMI, Jon was a partner with McKinsey & Co. and a designer in both the aerospace and power industries, including a stint at Lockheed Martin’s Skunk Works.

 

Jon received a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and has published extensively on the economics of low-carbon strategies.
